This incredible color was found while I was hiking at Dundee Mountain. A couple of years ago we found a mother fox with her youngsters at the top of the hill. The den is still there, but there was no sign of any inhabitants. Enjoy

one of my favorite types of trees, and against those striking yellow leaves this makes a just fantastic shot! Great Capture :)

Even better now, more luminous, if that is the right word. :-)

I wasn't sure if anyone would notice. It needed to have the white and black points set better. I appreciate your support alot. Thanks

You are welcome, and thank you, too. Would it be easy to describe what you did when you re-edited this?

Sure, basically what I did was added a "Levels" layer and used the eyedroppers and clicked on a white spot and a black spot to reset those points. I could have just dragged the right side of the histogram over a little but I wanted to control it a little more. I also added a Hue/Saturation layer, with a layer mask, to get rid of the magenta tone on the tree trunks. I didn't do anything drastic. Sometimes I don't see things until later after I've looked at a photo a few times, then any mistakes I made stand out like a sore thumb.

Yes, sometimes we seem to just overlook things, maybe because we are preoccupied with something that we like or are proud of.

Would it be right to say, that this adjustment with the white and black spot makes for a perfect white balance? I have not used this technique before. So thank you very much for telling. You don't use it for every image, do you? :-)

I don't always try for the "perfect" white balance. I just go with what looks good. I do try to adjust white balance with every photo. It's just one of the steps in my process.
